Gunnison Plow

Our next project will be the Gunnison Plow.

It will feature the usual laser cut wood body and a photo etched brass plow, together with a choice of old style box headlight or a more modern hooded electric head light.

Anticipated release date will be March 2008, but hopefully before. All the work for the brass plow is complete but the CAD file for the wood need a little tweaking, but in the meantime here are a couple of shots of the prototype model.

Our next project will be the Alamosa Trash Gondola D&RGW 06229This car was built on the flat car from under CONX tank #15 which originally ran on the C&S, When CONX #15 received a steel under frame on the Alamosa car shop in1925, the old wooden frame was used to build the trash gondola. 33 inch 4 board wooden sides were added, these sides were bolted directly to the side sills and the boards nailed to the stakes. Originally it ran on 4ft 6in arch bar trucks thought to have come from the ex-Crystal River Railroad’s Ingoldsby dump gondolas. Our model seeks to represent this car as closely as possible, it is laser cut from 3mm ply and ¼ bass wood. Additionally it will have a opening side door and be lined with styrene to represent steel sheeting. Lastly it features D&RGW 4' 6" Reefer Trucks these being the closest I can find

This kit should as with the 06413 be available very early 2008

A Few more images of 010145

010145 Water Service Car

Our first model is of the

D&RGW Water service car 010145

The Prototype was use in maintenance of way service all over the Denver and Rio Grande Narrow gauge network. Believed to have been original converted from a passenger car. The clerestory and window arrangement are similar, if not identical, to those of narrow gauge mail cars 14-21, renumbered 1-8 in 1886 and changed to excursion cars 566-573 in 1888. It also appears to have had a larger, baggage car sized door installed at some point. The car is currently on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway, in a very poor state.

The model is to 1:20.3 scale (F) And is primarily made from laser cut ply wood, with trucks from Accucraft and detail parts in cast white metal.
Two options will be available:
1, A full kit of parts to build your self, including all laser cut wood, Accucraft trucks, Transfers for either the box car red version or the MOW grey, and detail parts required to complete the model. £230
2, A ready to run model painted and weathered in either box car red or MOW grey. £350
