Replacement Jackson Sharp Sides

Our latest project is replacement sides for the AMS Jackson Sharpe Passenger Cars

300

Here are a couple of pictures, of the prototypes. They are designed to be direct replacements for the AMS sides, and screw in position just like the originals.

There are 2 designs to start with 300 with single pane windows, and 292 with round corner windows.

292

292 will also include a set of celestory strips. This lasered section of clerestory wall and window frames will allow the masking over of the original AMS 11 window recessed clerestory with an accurate 13 window clerestory .
292 will also come with parts to convert it to 0292 MOW car.

Future designs will hopefully include an RGS combine (259), and a couple of cars currently running on the Durango and Silverton.

As usual they are made from laser cut ply.

Both cars will have window frames which can be set in the open position

Pricing Should be finalized in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Dave,

You have shown a photo of coach 300, that is the rebuilt version - with the window behind the stove closed off, and also the end windows closed off as well. Cannot verify the end view as it is not in the photo!

Are you also going to have the coaches with 14 windows per side, and end windows, as delivered new to the D&RG available please?

Finally how is the pricing going; have you managed to get two sides on a sheet?

Yours Peter Bunce

Peter I have no plans at pesent to produce the earlier versions of the coaches however if ther is enough interest then I will certainly consider it.

Unfortunatly I was not able to get 2 sides per sheet of ply wood, only 1 and 2/3rds. Also the laser time is quite high due to scribing of the siding. So the price going to be a little higher than I hoped.
UK price will be £70 per set for the 300 and 292 cars, not including decals.

US pricing will be available from Jonathan at Electric Model Works, but I suspect will be a little higher due to shipping costs.
